Final Project - Final Draft

Final Piece to be mounted.

Final Project Drafts

This is the original photo I began with. I took this photo when I went to the museum. Overall a pretty good picture as it looks very very real and I feel will give the reader a feeling of "oh wow this is a real life experience." First I started with the full color picture but as I progressed I felt as if the image was strong enough to work with out the color. I posted the photos with the grid and with out the grid so that you guys can see where how I was working. I was definitely working with a very very simple palette in my mind.

Trip To LA County Museum

Good thing about this museum is that is across the street from my home so I simply skated over to the museum and took a walk around. I had been there plenty of times so it wasn't anything new but they did have a couple new exhibits.

Brody's Work

Brody has a well put together portfolio, obviously, as a word famous designer. Below are some of my favorite works by him. He has a great style as he can go from a very very simple design to something very complex, which I appreciate because everything isn't the same ALL the time, except for a couple elements. I plan to appropriate his style in the simplest form. This will be the hardest challenge as I believe "simple is hard, complicated is easy." I will stick to only helvetica and do what I can with only one font.

Graphic Designer For Ad 1 Final

Yes yes I know. I choose the Wanker aka Neville Brody. The main reason I choose him is because after watching an interview on him he said something that really caught my attention. He said " as far as I'm concerned there is only the need for one type face, Helvetica. " This was interesting to me because I've always been a an of the font, although I'm not a master typographer and I can't mass alter the font, I believe that if you can find a way to work with one single font and do it effectively you have accomplished a very difficult task.

Target Audience

Target Market:

18-35 year old Males
Class Type: Middle Class

My shoe is the Puma R698.

My intent with this project is to hit the 18-35 year old male market. Although this shoe is a running shoe I'm going after the lifestyle market as I plan to sell this shoe as a lifestyle rather than a running shoe. In other word I want to make a "cool guy" running shoe that you don't have to run in but even if you do you look "cool" doing it.

For layout I plan to approach it the same way I approached my first project by placing everything in a way that pleases the eye. I'm looking forward to the page advertising as it will be a bit of a challenge to bridge the gap between the teens and adults.

I will make an add that will be placed in Complex Magazine (complex.com). This magazine is a lifestyle/fashion driven magazine that I feel will be a perfect fit for this ad.
